Special Exhibition

Opening date: Wednesday, 7 July 2010, 7:00 p.m.

On his journey around the world in 1892-1893, Archduke Franz Ferdinand visited many places. Included among these were India and Ceylon. From tiger hunts to court ceremony, Franz Ferdinand’s adventures were documented by well-known photographers such as Eduard Hodek from Vienna or Indian Lala Deen Dayal.

80 historical photographs as well as miniatures on ivory and paper selected from the Archduke’s enormous “Souvenir Collection” have been brought together for the first time for an exhibition in the Museum of Ethnology.

An E-Publication will accompany the exhibition: ISBN 978-3-200-01875-4
